About DJ Danny Lee
With a wealth of radio and club experience under his belt, all-round good guy Danny Lee is turning heads in the industry.
With the #1 listened-to late Saturday night show on the mighty Kiss FM, Danny Lee is certainly living up to the title of “rising young star”, and then some, with his talents becoming fast-recognised by the music industry’s major players. Danny is also now moving on to the next level of his career - having honed his musical ears and DJing skills from a prodigiously young age, he is currently setting his sights on producing.
Messing around with a set of second hand turntables in his home in Essex, set a thirteen year old Danny on the path to his future career. Teaching himself to beat match and building up his armoury of vinyl over the next few years paid off when, at the age of sixteen, Danny landed himself a weekly dance show on a local underground radio station. With a fanbase of listeners growing weekly, Danny’s show soon become one of the most popular on the station. After a year with the station Danny decided it was time to take his sound into the clubs. With a great deal of persistence, Danny eventually persuaded the resident DJ at a well-established local nightclub to give him the warm-up slot one weekend… and the touch paper was lit. Before long, Danny’s skyrocketing reputation meant that at one point, he was weekly resident at five of Essex’s biggest nightclubs, playing alongside many of dance music’s heavyweights.
Danny soon turned his attention to putting together a weekly podcast to share the music he loved playing globally. Danny's first mix hit the download limit on Soundcloud in just forty-eight hours, and received thousands of plays across the world. One of the people who listened to the podcast and loved it, was a producer for Kiss FM; straight away, she got in touch with Danny, and the podcast was aired the next Sunday evening as ''The midnight mix with Danny Lee''. An invitation to the Kiss studios in London soon followed, where he met the team and received praise from DJ legends Steve Smart and the Wideboys.
A few months later Danny was asked to return as part of the Friday Night Kiss lineup for the monthly ''Kiss Fresh DJs'' show. After four months of a one-hour mix show, Danny was taken on full-time to present his own three hour show on Saturday Night Kiss by the station, who were impressed by the ever-rising ratings that Danny’s show was achieving.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Danny is constantly seeking out the best in new dance music to showcase, continuing to play to more and more people in clubs and at festivals globally, and will soon be presenting his own productions to the world!
